So I finally went surfing.
I had so much fun! I'm incredibly hooked. I'm persuaded to move to CA and buy a beach house and surf everyday. I woke up this morning and was incredibly sore. I will have to work on building muscle. But other than that I'm learning. I'm completely rubbish when it comes to balance and I haven't quite mastered the trick to standing on my board but I am determined to figure it out.
The sun was amazing. It was my favorite part. I went surfing with the club team and we loaded the bus and went. We surfed until the sun set and the water became too cold to surf in. It was beautiful. Something I could do everyday.
I was miserable getting that wet suite off. I couldn't feel my hands and it just stuck to me. I pretty much gave up and with the help of Rose pried it off my body. I was freezing in the wind and the cold. I guess it was worth it.
After a good day of surfing I went and hungout with the surf club members at a surf social. It was amusing. Hopefully I'll meet more people later on!
So I met this girl tonight named Louisa. She's a very nice girl. Anyway, she convinced me to join her netball team and go snowboarding with her. Uhm yes... this could be interesting! Especially since they snowboard on a kind of wet foam (aka not snow!) I'll have to let you know how that goes. All the people here are fascinated that I've done ice hockey. They just don't understand how somebody could skate on ice with a puck and pads for fun! I tell them to try it before they hate on it! I am determined to watch cricket play when I'm here. Luckily, Louisa is very sporty so she can tell me when things are good. She also has an amazing music collection (her words not mine) so I've been told that I haven't heard good music until I hear hers. Uhm we'll see!
